VITAKIDZ INSTANT MEAL
It has been called “Miracle” Porridge and “Rise from the Dead” Porridge.
Officially it is Vitakidz, a revolutionary instant meal developed by food scientists and produced in Paarl, South Africa.
Simply add water (or milk) and eat! No cooking required!
Some children like to eat it thick like a porridge, some prefer more like a shake. But either way, with the options of chocolate, strawberry, banana, and regular flavor, kids are able to get the nutrition they need and enjoy it!
PROPER NUTRITION TO START THE DAY OFF RIGHT
Our target demographic is children ages six months to six years. One bowl of VitaKidz has up to 85 percent of a child's nutritional needs including protein, Omega 3, calcium, iron, folate, fiber, and vitamins A, C, and D.
WIDER DISTRIBUTION TO REACH MORE MINISTRY PARTNERS
Hot meals have a radius. They only stay hot so long. Outside of this radius, we need another solution to childhood hunger. VitaKidz Porridge has a 15 month shelf life, so we are able to ship large quantities at a time to save on shipping costs and deliver to ministry partners where our hot meals cannot reach.
EFFICIENCY THROUGH VOLUME AT THE PAARL, SOUTH AFRICA FACILITY
Our production facility in Paarl is designed for peak performance. It can produce up to a million portions of Vitakidz daily sand can ship anywhere in the world. By manufacturing Vitakidz in Africa, we also benefit the local economy by purchasing local ingredients, leasing property and partnering with local businesses.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT THROUGH JOB CREATION
Each OTB employs nationals for each of its facilities thereby reducing unemployment in the communities in which the facility is located. Employing up to 15 employees per shift, a typical facility will include management staff, customer service representatives, operators, maintenance staff, security personnel and distribution staff. Paying living wages to all staff is standard practice and OTB facilities in a community significantly impacts many families. Each OTB facility has a focus on gender integration with over 50% of its staff made up of women. There is consistent and compelling evidence that when the status of women is improved in a community, poverty is reduced.
